FAQ
You start with a short online health assessment. We arrange bloodwork at a lab near you, or an at home draw. A licensed Medvoni clinician reviews your results and your history and decides whether treatment is appropriate. If it is, your prescription goes to a licensed pharmacy and ships to your door. Your clinician follows up and adjusts your dose over time.
They work with hormones your body already makes to slow digestion, reduce appetite and help regulate blood sugar. Semaglutide acts on the GLP-1 receptor. Tirzepatide acts on both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors. Your clinician will recommend which is more appropriate for you.
Yes. Bloodwork is part of every Medvoni weight loss plan, not an optional extra. It shows your clinician what is driving your weight, whether your thyroid, hormones, kidney function and metabolic markers are in range, and whether a GLP-1 is safe for you. It is also what separates Medvoni from programs that prescribe from a questionnaire alone.
No. A prescription is never guaranteed. A licensed clinician decides based on your labs, your health history and current clinical guidelines. If medication is not appropriate for you, we will tell you and explain why.
The most common are nausea, reflux, constipation and fatigue, usually strongest in the first few weeks and after a dose increase. Starting at a low dose and increasing slowly reduces them. Tell your clinician if something does not feel right. Adjusting your dose is normal and expected.
Brand name GLP-1 medications are FDA approved. Compounded medications are prepared by licensed pharmacies and are not reviewed or approved by the Food and Drug Administration for safety or effectiveness. Your clinician will explain the difference before you start so you can choose with the facts in front of you.
It varies. Some people use medication for several months while building habits that hold on their own. Others stay longer with clinician oversight. There is no lock in and you can cancel at any time.
Yes. Bring your current medication and dose and any recent labs, and your clinician will review them. In most cases we will run our own panel so your plan is built on current numbers rather than old ones.
Michigan at the moment, with more states coming. If you are outside Michigan you can join the waitlist and we will contact you when we open in your state.
Usually not. Most GLP-1 prescriptions for weight are not covered by insurance. Medvoni pricing is out of pocket with no insurance required, and plans are HSA and FSA eligible.
